The Prince (Also known as the Dashing Prince, or the Prince of All Cosmos) is the main character and silent protagonist of the Katamari series and usually the first playable character. He is the son of the King Of All Cosmos and his Queen. His grandfather is the King's Father.

The Prince was tasked with creating stars from Katamaris for the King after a drunken night of jose crivrow. When the king realized what he had done, he unceremoniously hurled the Prince at the Earth, sent him a few Katamaris, and told him which stars to make.

In Me & My Katmari, it is possible to roll up The Prince at the tutorial. By using June , The Prince is instead the final objective to be rolled up to clear the stage.

Character biography Edit

Katamari Damacy Edit

Having arrived on Earth, the Prince begins his not-so-royal task of rolling the Katamari to collect items to build stars from. Once he has completed the Katamari, it is sent into space to be turned into a star.

During this time, the Prince attempted to hide his work from the people of Earth, but was quickly noticed by the Hoshino family. Once he finished making the stars and constellations, the Prince created a new Moon, which involved the accidental roll-up of the Hoshinos.

We Love Katamari Edit

Once his task to recover all the stars in the Cosmos was complete, the Prince realized that his father became a super star in the world. His work (the game Katamari Damacy itself) caused a lot of positive feedback from many inhabitants of Earth, and soon, the King of All Cosmos started receiving various requests from his fans. At first he doesn't have a clue why the sudden popularity (his first guess was his chin), so he sent the Prince to fulfill all the requests he could. The Prince could even ask his cousins to help him by rolling Katamaris for him. At the end, he stumbled upon a dog, who wanted to see if the Sun could be rolled, so the Prince (or one of his cousins) accomplished the request, filling the King with joy. And the King recognized that even if there are still more fans out there, and that the job was not done yet, he was still satisfied for all the good work the Prince and his cousins had done.

Me & My KatamariEdit

Following right after the previous game, after completing a lot of requests from their fans, the Royal Family took a vacation in the tropics. Once again overindulging, the king decided to show off his cannonball and caused a tsunami, destroying all the nearby islands. The local animals were thus left out of a home. The King decided to build new islands for them. Once again sending the Prince to roll up things in the Katamari, the King took requests for new islands from the animals. Once all the islands were finished, the King decided to do something much tamer for his vacation.

Beautiful KatamariEdit

The game opens with the King of All Cosmos, his Queen, and the Prince, enjoying some tennis while on vacation. However, a powerful serve by the King causes the tennis ball to rip through the fabric of the universe, creating a black hole that sucks everything but the planet Earth into it. In order to correct it, the King commands the Prince to roll up katamaris on Earth to recreate the planets, the Sun itself, and other celestial features. Once the Prince completes this, the King then orders him to create a katamari large enough to plug up the black hole and restore order to the universe.

Katamari Forever Edit

One day, the King was training the Prince to perform large hops (foreshadowing the Prince Hop ability), but due to his impatience, the King demostrated his "Giga Jump", when suddenly a meteor that passed by hitted the King in the head so hard, he forgot all his memories. With the King in a comatose state, the Prince panicked and called a council with all his cousins, where they planned to create a temporal substitution for the King: The Roboking. But once all the pieces were put together and the Prince created a Reactor Core out of a katamari, the Roboking went berzerk, blasted off, and destroyed all the stars in the Cosmos (In a recreation of Katamari Damacy's intro, where the King destroyed all the stars). After the destruction, the Roboking went back to normal anc crashed into Earth, so it was the Prince's job to recreate all the destroyed stars for the Roboking, and recover the lost memories for the King. Once the King awoke, the Roboking knew he was now useless, so the Prince rolled his pieces one by one and it was turned into a star. And before ending, the King requested the Prince to go inside his mind and roll all his dreams (in the form of bubbles), closing this crisis once and for all.

Touch My KatamariEdit

This time, the King suffered from a life crisis caused by a kid comparing him to a school principal. Filled with depression and low self-esteem, the Prince had to perform requests from fans to turn the King back to his old confident self. During this adventure, a young adult called Goro, fan of video games and the internet, saw what the King has becomed, and realizing that he was turning "into him", he decided to change his life. As the game is completed, we see Goro attempting to buy a study guide from a library, when he is attracted to buy mangas instead. When he was about to use his money to buy them, he is suddenly rolled by a katamari, causing him to remember his mom, thus increasing his motivation and self-control. He liberated himself from the katamari, rushed into the library, successfully purchased the study guide, and even caused a girl to fall in love with him, since "learning is so sexy". We then see a montage from his life after that, passing exams, getting hired, marrying the girl, and even having a son. Standing in a cliff, he reflects on his achievements, and concluded that "Katamari Damacy is really awesome"

TriviaEdit

• The Prince's cousins: Kenta, Slip, and Odeon have color schemes that are identical to The Prince.
• In Katamari Damacy, when he and the cousins are rolled up, they all make the same sound effect when picked up. However, in We Love Katamari onwards, all the cousins would have their own unique sound effect when rolled up, like for example screaming their own name. But the Prince wasn't given a new sound effect, instead, the KD sound effect became his own.
• He and The King are parodied in a MAD episode, even using part of the plot of Katamari Damacy. However, the episode, like the entire show, has been VERY poorly received.
• He appears as a playable character in Pac-Man World Rally. He's a light weight character that drives a small cart with katamaris for wheels.
• The only time he can be rolled up in Me & My Katamari is when you have June enter the tutorial level. The Prince will have June's role in that level.
• His Cousin Leaderboard Description in Beautiful Katamari: Our beloved son, The Prince! He always tries his best, which is why he's so popular!
